Wow! i'm inspired by many of these photos here! great work everyone!
Well, today i really wished i had a nice telephoto lense rather than the standard kit lense that comes with the XT. I went to Edwards Gardens (in toronto) again where i took some shots of flowers the other day.
Of course, there purched on a branch is a Hawk, I think it's a red tail hawk...not sure.
I managed to get a few shots but every time i got closer he flew away, and I'm still not quick with manual settings so the shots i took of him flying didn't really look good.
I went to the SF zoo last week with my new Olympus C765UZ and the knowledge I have gained from reading sites like this, I am a newbie. I have no idea what the first bird is. The second one is a Peregrine Falcon. The Third is a standard issue Peacock

I took this shot of a bald eagle near my sister's house last weekend. I'm not too sure of the bird's age, however. His head seems to be nice and white, but his tailfeathers don't seem to be as white as his head. I think I remember reading that their heads and taild don't get completely white until about four years of age. I didn't have much time to get set up. This was hand held with an FZ3, and I think I had to use a little digital zoom (yuck!) on it.
