    Cactus Wren Chicks

Here is a shot taken about 2 weeks ago around Anthem, AZ. Unfortunately My main computer is down for maintenence so the cropped and upsampled version is not available yet.

These are Cactus Wren Chicks nested in, of all places, a Saguaro Cactus. I have a couple more but they need a little work as these were taken at a distance and looking up about 15 feet. A good reason to invest in the Sigma 18-200 (this was taken with the 18-125).

Thanks for the kind words, but me thinks you are an Audobon photographer yourself. you have shown a lot of excellent close-ups. all your work is impressive.

Very Nice! Wrens may be my favorite as they make nests inside our garage. Yesterday a second batch of babes of this season left the nest. Today, one day later, we see that a third nest is in the works...

fztwenty...thanks for the compliment and the bird info! Much appreciated!

snowrdr...a really great shot. You are really getting a lot out of your new camera already!

XOO...wow! That made me jump back from the screen (I saw "The Birds" when I was way too young and haven't recovered yet! ) Super cool shot!
