Seems to be thinking.... "never more".
Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore.
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore—
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
    Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly,
    Though its answer little meaning—little relevancy bore;
For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
Ever yet was blest with seeing bird above his chamber door—
Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
    With such name as "Nevermore."

"Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend," I shrieked, upstarting—
"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!"
    Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

—With apologies to Edgar Allan Poe for shortening his poem

Now combine the full poem with the second shot...

I'm sure that EAP would appreciate the combination, and that his writings are still being quoted...

    Or not.

Trips out to Phoenix always give me a chance to sit in the hot sun by the feeder trying to catch a couple of good shots. Definitely got lucky today.

It's days when I want to try and chase down kingfishers that I am glad I bought the Sigma 50-500 for the E-5. Kingfishers are easily spooked and never seem to get closer than 100 feet or so. Just noticed that the EXIF data shows 62 meters for this one. It was the best of the 40 or so I grabbed, glad I had the monopod too.

Cold and windy here today. Decided to walk down by the river. Stalked this heron who managed to find a very good fishing spot around sunset. He must have caught 4-5 fish in 10 minutes.

Great timing on the heron shot. Patience pays off.
