Thanks. Your egret shot is much sharper, but I don't think the kayak stabilizer was fully engaged on mine

Gotcha!
Here is another Egret shot with rather strong backlighting from late afternoon sun. Shutter speed of 1600/sec froze water in mid splash.

Falconest,
So, did he catch anything? Great shot either way.

Just back from the puffin beauty parlor and they said don't get the wings wet for at least an hour.

Came upon this huge raven(?) whilst in Juneau, Alaska. It was feeding on some carrion and definitely didn't want to be interrupted. After taking in the sharp beak and vicious claws, we gave it a wide berth. Nikon D7000, 18-200VR @ 200mm, 1/125, f/5.6, ISO 100.

lol @ 200mm.
That's a great shot and an evil looking bird.

You may laugh at 200mm, but I would have used a longer zoom if I had one. That bird wasn't afraid of us in the least -- it was annoyed . I can see definite signs of velociraptor antecedents there.

Sir Les;
Was it tapping it's claws on the concrete wall? As in Jurassic Park?
