Gavin, great shot. What are you shooting with? Are you in a blind?
I use a Nikon D200. The lens for this shot was the less-than-stellar Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF, hence the poor-ish IQ (the fact that it's somewhat cropped didn't help either ).
As for where I was, the nest is located atop a telephone pole on the side of a fairly busy street. I was essentially in the parking lot across the street (an area which is elevated from the level of the street below.
I like the movement effect Kevin but I'd prefer posting the photo rather than the link.
