Here are my first pics from my S9000. These were taken on full auto, handheld, and no edits other than a crop and Photobucket's resizing. I'm open to any and all criticism. Next time I hope to have a tripod, and maybe even learn how to use some of the manual controls, histogram, etc.
Hyacinth Macaw - Anadorhynchus hyacinthinus
This lil fella, whose name I didn't catch, looks like he needs a nap.
This guy has the right idea.
Mallard - Anas platyhynchos
I was born and brought up in Iran, a beautiful country full of history. I started taking photos at an early age (15 years old) of my life with a Lubitel, a Russian twin lenses camera.
Here are some of the first bird photos that I've taken with my Fuji S5700/S700.
Unfortunately not as sharp as some of the brilliant shots in this thread and all shot hand-held on a bright spring afternoon without the benefit of any filters, in Sports mode...
First, a Noisy Miner:
Second, a wading water-bird (previously incorrectly described as a "Waterfowl"):
Third, Ibis:
