    Very nice shot, Val.
    Great timing.

    Here's a shot of a falcon (I think )
It was taken at a falconry.

Val those kestrals are pretty fast. All I've ever been able to get are blurred smudges. Thats an excellent shot.
Prospero I love the colours & detail on the falcon. The black background is very effective was it done in PP or is it just good DoF & lighting? It looks like he posed for you in a studio.
Around every picture there's a corner & round every corner there's a picture
    - the fun's in finding them

Thanks Phil. The subject was well lit, while the background was in the shade. The lens was wide open, because it was a bit dark and I had to keep my shutterspeed above 1/300s while keeping the ISO low. These two things caused the background to be so dark and lack all detail.

In PP I boosted the contrast a little. That did darken the background a bit too. I also boosted the saturation a bit. But beyond that I did little PP.

    Prospero: Wow! what detail!

I clicked a few of these in broad daylight with my 70-300. It was around 10m from me...

They're birds too, you know. And sometimes dinner.

I think the Canon 70-300mm IS is pretty sharp.
