Meet Liberty, A Bald Eagle who lives at a local Bird of Prey Centre....She is known to have a dislike of the guy who organised the day out and is letting him know it......

I was talking a walk with my new 70-300 IS and this one sort of jumped out of the reed at me. It was quite big and I just managed this shot since he caught me by surprise big time but I have no clue what kind of bird this is. Anyone?
Edit: My brother had the answer, it's a Great Bittern.
