    Smile Very colourful

Nice red bugs Kushnirenko I've not seen anything like that in the UK. Not that I go looking much. Two of them seem to have different markings are they males & females?

Hi Kushnirenko, is your "Colony" the same as this?

I saw this bunch just Saturday here in Ontario!

I think influence not sexual distinction. More likely it depends on age.

    Hi everyone,

Here's a pic of a Praying Mantis that I took a few years ago using an older Sony CyberShot camera.

    Enjoy!

    Take care,

    Lucky shot

I was walking along a path in in a stiff breeze. The plants were swaying back and forth considerably, especially one where a caterpillar had managed to climb to the top. It was hanging on for dear life, almost being swung out of the plant. So I focused (manually) my DS and held the plant with one hand. This helped a little, the caterpillar still swung about. My focussing hand being occupied I moved the camera back and forth until things looked in focus, and when the caterpillar swung by I clicked off. I expected to get your basic orange blur. Much to my surprise, when I got home I found I had gotten this:
