    Thanks for all the great and kind comments. I am using my favorite lens. it is a Sigma 28-80mm f3.5-5.6 minizoom Macro with aspherical focusing. and yes, he did hold still and no dragonflies were hurt taking these photos. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Im not sure if this is a grass hopper or a cricket. I am only glad it sat still long enough for me to get a shot.

    I hate my tripod, but BE hounds me to death so today i used it. I know that the best pics come from tripod use, I just find mine to be cumbersome. I did get a pretty good shot (with my tripod) today.

    B...Rick's nagging has paid off!! this is an absolutely fabulous shot! and it's incredible that the grasshopper looks so candid. almost expressive...and to be honest it nothing i've ever seen before (an expression from a bug.)

    no where near the quality of the DSLR images...but the s602 has it's limits. (images unedited, only resized in adobe)




    cropped and framed in adobe, but not touched up.

    I always find these things don't stay still for me for a second - let alone time to set up a tripod!!!
