Lukas, Rooz, Toriaj, Phill, thanks a lot for your valuable inputs.

Rooz, these are shot in available day light, no flash used.

Here is one more top view of a damsel

    Bee getting a suntan

This fella was having a rest in the sun. Had to crop it a lot to get close enough. Sharpened it a bit in elements too.

Phil - fantastic great Bumble Bee - super shot.
Adiseshanaik - fantastic exposure of the Damsel

Ok - this isn't super - but I am just joining in the fune here!
This is one of those small green beetle things that looks like a Pumpkin seed
this was stuck in a web and flapping in the breeze - I was inches away - so
it was flying in and out of focus - so it's a bit hitty missy (but a challenge nevertheless!!)

tkbslc, that's a great shot. I like the sun's reflection on his body, it makes me feel like I'm really in the scene.

Thank you. It was mostly by accident as I am quite the novice. I'm glad you like it.

Friends, posting few more butterfly pics shot recently. All are from 20D with Sigma 150mm macro lens

    #1 - Has focus issue

#2 - Placement in intentional. BG was the main subject

#3 - a little bit cropped to get the proper compo, has issue with depth and focus plane
