And I didn't want to muddy up this thread but what are you all using for lenses?
What's a great macro lens that will fit on a Canon XTi?
I'm seeing Sigma 28-80 mm ,F3.5-5.6 with minizoom macro in some sigs, but Jeff31, Sigbhu and Bald Eagle, what you you using?
I really like your shots.
I was looking at:
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens for Canon SLR Cameras by Canon
and
Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Digital SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLR Cameras by Canon
(Amazon description)
Since I want at laest 1:1, I don't know if I want an adapter or would rather spend the money for a macro lens, but don't you have to be really close? I'd want one that can focus away a bit because I don't want to be bit or stung by my subjects (I love spiders - great shots you all).
I can zoom in with my 75-300 telephoto but, will this do it, then crop?
Don't think I can get as close as Jeff.
It's winter here in NJ, and not many bugs to be had yet, so I have time to save and buy.
Thanks all!
