Hi, I'm new here. I saw all your wonderful flower photos and couldn't help but share some of my own. These were shot with the new Canon S2 IS (seems to be very popular), which I just purchased yesterday. Don't know whether this camera's a keeper or not, but the Supermarco mode is making quite a case for itself!

    F/4; 1/320; ISO 50; Supermacro mode

    F/4; 1/400; ISO 50; Supermacro mode

For some strange reason, the AF had extreme difficulty with this one. It finally worked on my 5th try.
    F/4; 1/250; ISO 50; Supermacro mode

    Cheers!

wall - really lovely pics - keep them coming!

I was away on a Safe High Voltage Electrical course. I decided not to take a camera as I didn't want to irritate and bore everyone and also thought there would be no photo opportunities. How wrong I was!!! We were right beside (and I really mean RIGHT beside) Ratcliffe Power Station in the midlands of England. 8 massive cooling towers set in a beautifull countryside. Great lighting and moody shots. Poppies on the road side with huge towers in the background...Also some of the stuff we were doing was interesting too - we had a few fun experiments - one was passing High Voltage through a twig and watching the effects. So I will ALWAYS take the camera in future - even if I think there will be no photo opportunities.
Shortage of spare time recently - more pics soon

this is quite literally one of the very first images i had ever taken with my digital (almost exactly 3 years ago). i believe it's a cone flower.

shot in Normal Program, 1/340th sec. f/4.5, ISO - 200, focal length 7.8mm, HH

this one was taken not long ago. dandelion's quite possibly are my most favorite flower.

    shot in Aperature Priority mode, 1/1000th second, f/2.8, ISO - 160 @ 7.8mm, HH

    Normal mode, 1/340th sec., f/4.5, ISO - 200 @ 7.8mm, HH

same settings as before and again...hand held

a fuji s602zoom...though not a DSLR, it's a full funtional prosumer camera that still to this day serves it's purpose. someday when i can afford a DSLR, i will convert; but for now, it works.

i don't know where to put this one...but i'm sure no one will mind it here. i just love the natural greens.

    shot in normal mode, HH, 1/35th sec., f/2.8, ISO - 200 @ 7.8mm

Haven't any flowers to post here but for Geoff Chandler as a one off in this thred here is a long range shot of Ratcliff Power Station - we live fairly close by. I have a few others that I will post later in the sunsets thred although they are actually sunrise over the cooling towers.
