Thanks Rooz. It's using a reverse mounted Olympus 50mm lens.

    @ TheWengler:

I don't think it was just you. I think both of those were slightly underexposed.

Compositionally I like the first one. Though I'd take some off the right so that the flower leads into the frame more. The second shot is much weaker IMO.

how hard is it to use and focus with the reversed 50mm ? i've seen lots of results but never tried it.

There's no focusing really. The focusing plane is set and you just have to work with it. For that reason it can be very frustrating to use a tripod. Not too bad hand held. I'm using an older lens with a DOF preview button and the aperture ring on the lens. I just push down the DOF preview button when I'm ready to take the shot so it closes down to the right aperture. Off the top of my head I think the width of the frame is 7/8" with the 50mm lens I have. 7/8" might actually be for the 24mm lens I have. I can't remember. I know the 24mm lens gets me closer, but it's harder to see what I'm doing because it's f/2.8.

Nice shot Lukas. I've been meaning to give that reverse lens technique a try myself one day.
