    Thanks for the kind comments - very encouraging.
    I have to say that it is mostly down to that 17 - 70 lens which is really nice!
    OK - so, yes, I did have to compose the picture and point it in the right direction.. that, coupled with a load of new settings I am trying out.
    This is why I am so adamant that I should stick with that lens and work all my others around it.
    Cheers - and keep up all the good work with the photos everyone - great stuff here.
    BTW - LBGChris - I really liked your photo - really natural and it's what inspired me to have a go

    Poped out into the garden for 3 minutes today with the camera
    Here's what happened after the rain bashed our Lupins down to the ground
    they fought back!!
