    Macro Rose

I took this shot while messing around with my macro lens.

I think I should have focused more on the center of the rose, but other than that what do you guys think of this?

Mickisdaddy, I think the rose is beautiful. I really like how you got close to it. The rose looks very natural. Do you like the macro lens?

Comments, criticism, edits welcomed. I underexposed the shots and then brought them back in PP, and that seemed to make a difference, especially in the white flowers or the ones in bright sunlight. I used autofocus today, usually I've been using manual. Autofocus sure has its benefits!

I love my macro lens. It is a Tamaron 70-200 Tele-Macro. I just got my camera about 2 weeks ago and have shot about 400 pictures. Have basically been taking my camera wherever I go.

My camera is a Nikon D50 and I love the colors that I have been getting with it.

    Thanks for the comment.

    Yucca!

Not sure who named this plant a Yucca but I think it is pretty spectacular in real life. The shots don't quite convey the best of it but I'll try again another day. We have been waiting expectantly for a few weeks now for it to finally open as it hasn't flowered for about 5 years. The flowering area is about 3ft tall.

Thank you for the compliment! Have only had my camera a year so consider myself very much a beginner still - but definitely have the bug
