Yes boxgirl73 - lovely pics - actually I liked both the lilly & the geranium, lillys narly always look good - the geranium is good particularly as it shows a lot of subtle colours within the petals.
Any chance you could give us some camera details??

Hey I sympathise - I get grief about the camera - yet people are always happy when they see the pics!
That's a great little camera - one of my favorites, takes great pics - in your hands it should reward with some great memories and shots.
    Keep posting your stuff

Well, the obvious one: the A200 does pretty good close-ups.

In addition, the image could stand a bit of USM. Once I've resized to web-size I usually do a USM of amount=100, radius=1. That seems to give a bit more crispness. Otherwise a very good pic I'd say. I like the little fly, it gives a nice accent.

    Yellow Daisy

Here's a yellow daisy which might be Doronicum [Leopard's Bane] but I am not sure.

    Couldn't resist dead-centering this subject.

OK this is a rose my wife picked - couldn't resist it sitting there in the kitchen
    quickly snapped it up.
gstafleu : - Thanks for the comments. As for the USM - it's a handy tool for sure. My version in Serif has Amount, Radius & Threshold. I tend to use it quite paringly when I do use it. The Radius I have found seems to link with the image size - so an 8mp image would require a larger radius for a similar affect to a smaller image with a smaller radius. Amount? I tend to range between 45 and 60 most of the time, then the threshold is a sort of smoothing off at the end and I usually stick with 1 or maybe 2 on a larger image.
Continuing on about the close ups - the A-200 has basically 2 macro positions one at each end of the zoom range. Neither go very close so true close ups are only achieved on the telephoto end ~ that's what I mean by a strange approach to macro. I have to be very carefull about focus because of the reduced depth of field. Quite happy though!
Thanks again for the comments - and to everyone else - keep this thread flying - it's very good!!
