gstafleu - that is a lovely composition of the mallow flower and bud - very subtle colour and shape well captured.
phistio - I find thistles tricky to shoot I usually miss the details you have captured so nicely. I notice you were on ISO 200 setting. I have been using this on my Canon A80 recently. Actually I turned it up to capture some bees on flowers and forget to turn it down again!!
It really helps with my camera shake and when a breeze is moving the flowers. I am quite surprised just how much movement there can be and yet ISO 200 seems to cope. I am sure there is some loss in quality but better that, than a load of blurred shots.
Really loving everyones photos here - thanks to all!
This is sort of chat I guess ~ you may have heard me say that my A-200 has a strange sort of approach to macro and mention it's not the very best for super close ups.
Well - here's a little flower - with my thumb for scale. This shot isn't as close as I can get.
Finally - using 8mp resolution on the orig - I can make a substantial crop to get this: -
Most flowers etc arn't this small - so mostly I've got it covered with the A-200 - the Oly C-740 goes in a lot closer but at wide angle - the result is about a 3rd larger image I guess.
Any comments??
