'Tis the Truth my friend. Here is one of my efforts today. A close-up. hope you like.
Gerbera. I've been watering and watching this for a week or so - putting it out in the sunshine during the day etc. It lives in it's pot in our kitchen.
So I photographed it this evening - in the window with the light slightly behind. Actually I liked the lighting as it was not too vivid or contrast - but it was a bit behind it. Also it was a touch low lighting. 20th sec, F3.5, 100asa, 200mm ~ just into the macro range and, of course, Antishake. Shallow depth of field results in the petals at the bottom a bit off focus - but I'm happy with it. It's not a perfect specimen - but its ours and we like it.

I really like that, but on my opinion, i think your pic is a bit out of focus. If I could say.
Maybe you could post-treated it a bit to regain a few focus.
