Thanks guys. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Nice close-ups, Lukas. I really like the third one of yours Spookonthe8ball - nice texture! I have a few more here where I experimented with the 'water droplet' effect.

I like these water droplet ones, but they look to be under exposed. If you're shooting in any kind of auto mode then a light colored subject might throw off the metering.

Thanks. I put them all through LR but didn't do much of anything other than switch the WB to Auto on them since it really brought out the whiteness of the flower. The 1st, 4th and 5th one I added a little lens vignetting...maybe that is what you are noticing? I usually shoot in Program mode rather than full Auto or Manual...most of these were set on either Spot or Center metering..

I managed three decent shots this afternoon after school before the wind picked up and made it impossible:


I tried to line up the flowers in the background to get some nice colors

Nice ones Adam. Great detail in that second shot.

Does this one seem to be properly exposed? Once again the only editing was Auto WB and +0.40% exposure.

rx morph, yes that one looks better. For anything like white flowers, snow, etc. that takes up a large portion of the frame you should either shoot full manual or set EC to slightly over expose. This helps to make whites white instead of gray.

Thanks Tori and Lukas! I took about 10 shots of that rose and the wind was blowing it back and forth--I'm glad that one came out, and a really good one at that! That was with the 100 mm macro and my birthday present: a Kenko 1.5x teleconverter. I guess it doesn't degrade the sharpness too much!

Rx--that last one looks spot on to me....nice!
