It is all D80 related. Matrix metering has it's own peculiarities, namely it seems to be biased towards the focal point, can seem to need a bit of under exposure. WB even on this overcast day - still more accurate in Sunshine WB and +steps of blue for wrong red saturation compensation. And - more under exposure than I would normally expect - again particuarly with the close up of reds
Over the next couple of days I would like to share with you some excellent flower close-ups from digital cameras that will surprise you. Our first photo is of a Bird of Paradise flower taken in San Pedro, Ca with a Pentax S5i. It will surprise you.

* should have been +2 blue as I 'micro tweaked' the blue after - and that was on an overcast day!!! (*I am going to pop the various colour temps on a spreadsheet in a way I can clearly see how they pan out)
