    FZ5 and Sharpening

I read in several reviews that the FZ5 oversharpens images. Is this something I should be worrying about? I plan to keep image prints mostly 4x6.

    Thanks for the help.

Don't worry about that, it's true that the FZ5 tend to oversharpen pictures, but this doesn't bother me when I use mine : it makes minor scale effects on the brigth edge of objects, but nothing too bad.

If you print 4x6 you won't see it.

It it's a concern for you, the FZ5 has an option to soft the pictures (put it on "natural" mode).

Go ahead : buy this fabulous FZ5. Or might you prefer the FZ4, as it should have less noise (same ccd size but 1M less pixels).

In fact, if you don't plan to post-process your images, the extra sharpening would probably HELP your prints -- too much sharpening looks terrible onscreen, but actually helps the print look sharper unless you REALLY go overboard.
