jeff31, you've captured some really great pictures of your garden.

I continue to experiment with nite shots. The two night ones are from my work roof top, the 2 others of my backyard. I was trying to capture the color of the tree's red blossoms...but the red did not quite happen...

Curious, what where the settings, or did you have it on auto for the last 2 pics jeff?

For the pear tree blossom the settings were: aperture priority, f/3.5, 1/1000s, focal length = 9.9mm, 100 iso, center metering mode, macro, no flash, no tripod

For the butterfly the settings were: aperture priority, f/4, 1/250s, focal length=21.5mm, 100 iso, center metering mode, macro, no flash, no tripod.

I use very rarely the full auto mode.

    Another pic ?

Aperture priority, macro, f/3.5, 1/1000s, focal length=18.1mm, Center weighted average metering mode

GVales, wow. How'd you manage to catch the little critter in that pose?

    Thumbs up

    Super shot GVales !
Curious i've gone and seen the exif information of your image. It has been taken in full auto ?! 1/60s, f/3.5, 120 iso, focal length = 18.1mm, with flash
The flash does a very good job in macro !
