Good detail in the fur, black cats are tough on the meter; even with the flash.

Hi folks, this is my first post on the 'cat' thread. I was experimenting using the RAW format for a change with my D80 and Nikkor 35mm f/1.8, when along came Josh, my neighour's cat. Now Josh is both very friendly and inquisitive, and he joined in without a qualm. I must admit he looks singularly unimpressed having his paw shaken in the second photo - I call it "We are not amused" - but truth be told, he doesn't mind at all. My wife has taught him to sit and raise his paw when he wants some cat biscuits......which just happens to be most of the time.
Shooting RAW might become addictive—you certainly seem to retain a lot more detail, and fixing blown highlights and under-exposed shadows is a lot easier than working with jpgs.
Nikon D7000 and a bunch of Nikon stuff — oh, and some Canon p&s's too
