Mike - great series, I'm so mean! - I wouldn't have shared that many - really
glad YOU did. I liked the swirling water in the first one - and I like also the
foreground branch and dead leaves in (I think) the 7th. Did you use a
tripod? - the shutter speed clearly had to be quite slow in most or all of them -
but everything else is nice and steady.
Thanks for sharing these - really enjoyed them

Thanks Geoff,
Yes I was definately using a tripod. Most of the shots were at between 3 and 10 seconds I think. And believe it or not some were shot with a Quantaray 28-90mm lense without any ND filters on and they came out great Including the one that you liked with the branch in it..I have alot more nice ones that I may put up later.I even skipped some of the falls because of alot of debris that were in the way.

Here's a variation of the one pic that I posted earlier.A little closer shot and it was underexposed but I liked the way it brought out the colors in the leaves.I shot it on manual mode 6 sec. shutter,f/22, ISO-100.

Haven't looked at this thread for a while so I really enjoyed catching up. There are lots of excellent images here guys. I've tried to capture waterfalls but so far have failed to get the dreamy quality you all seem to get. I'll keep trying though. I noticed that Mike you didn't use any ND filters to get the slow shutter speeds quoted here, how about others? I can only get f8 with my FZ20 so should I be investing in some filters to capture misty waterfall shots?

Ahh yes Phill,
I failed to mention that I was using ND filters on my 50mm lense but not on the 28-90mm.The last pic that I posted I was using my 50mm with 3 ND2 filters stacked.I'll be sure to add those details in the future .

ND Filters
Phil D -
Yes for the FZ20, you need ND filters. For use with my FZ20 I have a ND8 and ND64. Get plenty of use out of each, depending on the lighting situation.

Thanks guys looks like I'll go & invest. I read on the panasonic thread that lovelife was suggesting using two linear polarisers stacked together to get a variable ND filter has anyone tried this on waterfalls? It seems quite a good idea, are there any drawbacks?
