Doug just noticed you said you only live 1 hour from the falls. The Sheraton has a nice restaraunt overlooking the panoramic view I posted a couple of floors below the room we had. I think there is a small balcony that you can go out on to to shoot photos so you don't have to stay at the hotel. Mind you the restaraunt prices are not cheap so I'd save it for a special occasion.

Thanks for the information Phil...I have been there many times but always go right to the falls to get my pictures, I like the ones you took from above. Maybe a mid-winter trip is in store. Here's a picture of Honeoye Falls with the 1855 built saw mill in the background. The saw mill itself was lost in a fire many years ago but the new building was built on the original foundation and the bright red color keeping form with the original building
Not trying to be offensive Doug but I think that last shot is a touch over exposed (but it could be my monitor or just me). Have you tried darkening it a touch to bring out the red and green? I can sometimes greatly reduce flare by adjusting curves. You've taken a lovelly shot there.

No offence taken DPR...it was a problematic shot at best because of the sun angle,shadows and areas of the picture in the full sun. I played around with it to try and bring out the best look to my eye. Like you say, it will look different on every monitor and thanks for the comments.

I'm new to the forums, but saw this thread and thought I'd post 2 of my favorite small waterfall shots. These were both taken with a canon S3IS. I did a bit of post-processing.
Hope you enjoy them. They were both shot in South Korea at one of the National Parks Here.
