As always, nice shot Wengler. More of a harbor light, but a light none-the-less. Did you get any hsitory on this light?

Thanks. I don't really know much about it.

    Needles lighthouse

Haven't posted any lighthouses for a long time so here's a few shots of the Needles lighthouse on the Isle of Wight in the UK.
Only noticed the slightly submerged rocks here on looking at the shot. Looks pretty dangerous to me hence the need for a light I guess.

Close up of the light & hele pad. I must admit the hele pad does tend to spoil the overall view a bit but if it was me on there I'd be glad of it.

Finally a salvaged shot in PP that I thought was useless because of the high level of haze as we left the island on our way home. For me the suprise here was the pin prick of light that comes through the lighthouse lamp room when the light was not turned on.

Thanks Phill. Pretty unusual (helipad) and the last shot is better than you think.:-)

George I shot it at 600mm I think off the ferry. It was very hazy so I used Picasa to boost the contrast to reduce the haze. Then there was a lot of cropping to get a reasonable looking composition. It's sometimes suprising what can be got from initially uninteresting looking shots with even just a little work. Thanks for the compliment.

Phill D, that's a crazy lighthouse you captured there.

Here are a couple of Point Cabrillo Lighthouse in Mendocino, CA
