Put the Canon telephoto lens on my Canon A85, beginners set up, maxed out the zoom. It's not all that clear but it is about 6 miles away.

Wow. I'm really glad to see that there are lighthouse fans adding to this forum... and great shots everyone.

Sorry I've kinda been out of the loop since by-pass surgery last year (does funny things to your head )

Here is one I don't think I have posted before. The Bosporus, Istanbul, a little over a year ago. I have an updated shot of Point Pinos Light as well that I will post this week.

Thanks for those shots. I miss going over to Santa Cruz. I used to spend a fair amount of time surfing there when I was younger (I'm originally from the Monterey side of the bay), and later golfing up at Pasatiempo (when it was cheaper). I once waked most of the beach from Santa Cruz to Monterey (there were a few places that were restricted at the time or had rivers/streams that had to be circumvented by the nearest bridge...
