That was from shore. The rock is out from the beach a bit. The fog was engulfing it before I could frame the picture better with a land reference.

You can't see the lighthouse in this picture, but this is where it's at...

scanned from film (slide film, actually). camera was nikon f100, location was santa cruz, ca. I believe I was using an f2.8 80-200 nikkor, handheld.

it was one of my first scanning projects and also one of my first in shooting slide film.

Thanks for that shot. I hope you don't mind but I couldn't resist reworking it a little with Noise Ninja and a touch of unsharp mask. Probably would be better with the original as once you recompress the file it looses a little in the translation.

I used to see this light every time I went to Santa Cruz to surf or just hang-out at the beach. This picture looks like before it was restored. For those who would like to visit its right at the end of Cliff Dr. on the south side of the river.

Here is a light house no longer in use off of cape cod. Taken on a very overcast windy day. Wish the sky was a nice blue but it wasn't. Comments welcome.

I like it, very unusual looking for a lighthouse; the bird captured in the pic is what makes this photo.
