Wow, Geoff, thanks for those shots. Interesting how these lights are incorporated into the town, vs. being set out in a remote location. Nothing worse than a lonely French lighthouse keeper.

I just realized that it's been 35 years since I have been to Sydney. Maybe it's time for another visit.

Thanks for these pictures. I think this is the only lighthouse I have seen with cannon in the yard.

... Rebuilt in 1842 as the original light was hard to read correctly due to condensation on the glass and actually caused a few vessels to run aground...

1970? I was still a young boy and still living in a different country as it was on the verge of joining the Vietnam war on the losing side.
Anyway, if you were in Sydney in 1970, lots of things have been changed. But the sun and surf remain the same.
