Located near San Luis Obispo, CA. To get there, you must make advance arrangements, as the lighthouse sits on private land owned by Pacific Gas & Electric, near the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. You hike about 3.5 miles with a docent on a beautiful trail to the light. The photo was taken several years ago with a Minolta film camera, and scanned.

Thanks EAP. For all the time I spent in Morro Bay, you would think that I would have visited this lighthouse. I certainly saw it enough when we were filling in for the Cape Hedge (our sister ship in Morro Bay).

Well, it does take quite a commitment to go see this particular light! Sorry the photo is crooked, by the way...
The extra angle gives it an interesting character. You are supposed to say "buy shooting slightly off axis I was trying for a frontscape effect" or something like that.

Well, George, I finally made it up to Pt. Arena to capture one of the most beautiful lighthouses in America. Mother Nature was kind & gave me a "window of opportunity" between rains to take 70+ shots.
This is the most "Touristy" shot, but I have other less "common" views that I prefer. So, what do you think?
By the way, it's time for you to submit an Arizona lighthouse, now.

Absolutely fantastic! It shows why there is a lighthouse there. Those are some nasty looking rocks. I will do that with Point Pinos as well. Next time I'm home. Thanks Deb.

Hey,
Absolutely wonderful shot! I love the rock formations. Superb composition also. Very nice work.

It's going to be tough. St. Georges Light is rumored to be the only one here, but I will check (If you look back a few posts you will find St. Georges light).

Here's mine as per request. Taken at Ponce Inlet, Florida with a Canon Sd500. The camera was set to 'foliage mode', and this picture has not been edited whatsoever.
