    Shooting Silheouttes

How would you properly shoot silheouttes? Whenever I try shooting silheouttes I get a dark blue instead of a black and some features are still evident on the silheoutted subject. Any help would be appreciated.

Put the subject in front of a window or other bright light and expose for the light. You can underexpose the shot if you would like. Make sure you check your white balance to get the blacks the proper color.
