It has been a long time since I have posted any pictures on these forums. I've been really busy with my studies, which has left me with very little time to post on these forums. I have kept on reading the forums, however, and am happy to see there are still regular posts here. It's great that Jeff has decided to keep these forums open, despite closing down DCRP.
While I was away from these forums, I did get the chance to travel quite a lot, and have taken lots of pictures from all over Europe (and some in New York). As suggested by George (D70fan) in the thread about AI-S lenses, I have therefore started this thread to show you some of the travel pictures I have taken over the last few years.
It's going to be a rather long thread, starting with pictures from 2011 and ending when I reach my most recent pictures (or whenever you all get bored with it, whichever happens first ).
I'll start the thread where I left off, with some pictures of Paris. I think I already posted one or two in the POTD thread, but most should be new. After this, there will be only new pictures.
# 01: The Notre Dame at sunset. This was a blend of two pictures, combined manually in Photoshop (without HDR software). I generally prefer this technique nowadays, since it is easier to get realistic results than when using Photomatix.
#02: The Eiffel Tower by day. Of the pictures I took in Paris, this is not my favourite by a long shot, but somehow it seems to be doing best commercially. A slightly tighter crop of this picture paid for most of the trip .
#03: The golden Dome of Hotel des Invalides.
#04: Interior of the church of Hotel des Invalides, showing the coffin of Napoleon.
#05: The church of Sacre Coeur.
#06: The Eiffel Tower by night.
#07: Saint Chapelle in Paris. This one is an HDR made using Photomatix.
#08: The courtyard of the Royal Palace near the Louvre.
