What brand of compact flash should I get for Canon A95?

I am new to this and I don't know which brands are good and which brands are bad. I know I need the type I if that matters. I've seen a lot of brands Sandisk, Lexar, Memorex, Kingston, PQI, etc. On outpost.com I found a 512 mb PQI for $39.99 with a $20.00 mail in rebate. Is this a good deal or is PQI crap and their trying to get rid of them? Also, is 512 mb the correct amount of memory for the A95 or should I go bigger or smaller? Should I get two 256 mb instead of one 512 mb? I just don't know the answers to all these questions. Any help would be very appreciative.

i would really say it doesnt matter. the A95 will not take advantage of the faster speeds. your camera does not have a huge buffer or high frame rate, so save your money and get a decently priced card.

from my own experience I would recommend the sandisk and lexar cards.
i have the sandisk Ultra II and love them. but your camera will not use the full capabilities of the card.

I assume the same holds true for the A85, it does not take advantage of higher speeds?

Am I better off with more memory vs higher speed?

Your probably better investing in more memory rather than speed your camera cant utilise as stated earlier in the thread.
I use a lot of CF cards and never had trouble with Sandisk or Lexar, the only brand that died on me was an Integra, rapidly replaced by the importer but it gathers dust in the cupboard.

If you're a serious photographer (serious, not professional), I don't think you will take any risk to the photos; so buy something that is highly reliable and you can trust. Sandisk, Lexar and Kingston have very good reputation in memory production. I only use PQI's flash RAM, and it's very good and reliable, but I do not try the CF card before. Always buy something that you feel comfortable, don't do any gambling, it's not worth.

Just purchased the A95 and since we leave on vacation next week I was pressed for time to decide on and buy a CF memory card. Thanks to this post I learned the A95 would not take advantage of any of the faster cards. I ended up buying the Sandisk 512 on newegg (no rebates involved!) for $39.05 (35.49 plus 2.57 tax & .99 s&h).
    Thank you all!

You should have gotten two of them for that price.
