Capture NX 1.2
The wife forced me to clean up my office tonight, and while rooting through the box that my D300 came in, I found a copy of Capture NX 1.2. Does anyone know if this version can be updated to the latest? I already have Capture NX 2, so I don't need it. Is it worth selling by itself, or should I just stuff it in with the D200 bundle that I'm selling?

It would be a violation of your EULA to sell it if you have installed it then upgraded from the install.
Toss the CD in the bin after you break it in half.

If you used NX1.2 as the upgrade base to NX2. If not, you can do what you please.
The older version should still be upgradable. Check with Nikon.

Kiwi, I guess I wasn't descriptive enough. My wife gave me a retail copy of Capture NX 2 a year or so ago and thats the one I'm using. I just found a copy of NX 1.2 in the box of my recently purchased D300, and before I tried to make a couple bucks off of it, I wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing someone by offering software whose life expectancy was nil.
D70, I'll crank off an email to Nikon and see what they say....

Anybody who acquires it is going to be up for an upgrade at the very least to get it to work with any reasonably new camera. NX is hardly a widely used program so I'd be struggling to see what value it has.

Personally, i have better results with NX 2 than I ever had with Adobe. To each his own, I guess.

DSCC, personally I agree. Better and faster. Adobe is a slug for editing and converting NEF. However for special effects PS is unchallenged... I'm not a graphic artist and not into SFX so there is little more than novelty value for me.
Don't confuse Capture NX2 with View NX2. IMHO the former is excellent, the later is not.

And do not confuse Capture NX1.2 which is the subject of this thread with Capture NX2.
Capture NX1.2 was a dog of the worst order IMO.

You will have a very difficult time selling. I had mine on eBay for a month at $25 w/free shipping. I threw it away.

Nope, I was a happy camper when NX2 came out. Even happier when I could upgrade for half price.
