What they all said. What's your motivation in keeping them open?
Also they're very quiet now and likely to grow quieter still over time. Having said that I prefer to hang here than anywhere else and I am unlikely to migrate to DPReview.

Keep them open as long as you can. The forums at dpreview are small print on a black screen that is hard on my eyes. I can't stand it there.
Please keep the Camera database open too.
Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Canon 300HS, Fuji F70, Panasonic ZS15.

As with the other folks here, I would love to see the forums continue. I don't think there is a better place on the web.
Lot's of history here... going on 9 years for me, and similar time for many who are still posting here.
I certainly vote to keep it going. Maybe we can mount a campaign to get more members as well.

I would very much support keeping the forum open if at all possible, and asked Jeff this question a couple of weeks ago. I also intimated I would be prepared to contribute financially (along with any other members who cared to contribute), if this were the only factor involved in retaining or closing the forum.
Personally, I like the fact that the forum doesn't get hundreds of posts a day like some other forums. It allows me to keep up with what's being posted, and also to get to know the posters and their work better on a more individual basis. And there's some terrific stuff posted here almost daily. Add to that the fact that this is one of the easiest forums to navigate and post photos to, and has the friendliest membership, and you can see why I'd like it to continue for as long as possible.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.
