    Thanks, Jeff,

It has been great. Part of my morning ritual is checking this forum. I have learned from it and hope I have helped others.

    All the best.

I joined this forum a few months ago and they seem a friendly lot.

I am not a fan of the DPReview forum style either - I doubt I will post there.

Well everyone, goodbye, good luck and happy shooting. For anyone that wants to stay in touch I post at Nikoncafe and dslrusers.com. Unless dpr change their forum style I will not be joining as the forum setup is utter rubbish.

Thanks for the laughs, the education and being able to learn from some stunning images. Hope to see some of you at the other forums.

Thanks you jeff but most of all, thanks to the members here.

I like your style of never cutting corners Rooz.
Goodbye and good luck everyone that I got to know here. I'm sure I disagree and upset a few. I apologise for that.
And a big thanks to Jeff.

in some aspects I do like the dcresource reviews better then dpreview

    Hi Jeff,

Sad to hear that this review site will close.

In some aspects I do like the dcresource reviews better then dpreview:

    a) You always shoot the same set of photos of real world subjects:
    - the entrance to china town (ideal to see the effect of the noise filter of the camera as seen in faces of the people: does it show a waterpaint effect?)
    - a church with some grass in front (ideal to see the effect of the noise filter of the camera in the grass)
    - the purple fringing tunnel of doom (and the the effect of hdr mode, etc)

Often real world photos such as these tells as much (or different things) then studio test photos.
I hope that when you are writing reviews at dpreview, you will keep making these test photos and maybe convince the other dpreview staff members to also take photos of these type of real world subjects.

    b) Some camera's are reviewed by you, but not by dcresource. The Canon SX-50 is such an example.

    c) The printer-friendly review page.
I like to print long reviews and reading them when travelling to my work. Easy with your printer friendly review page.
With dpreview reviews this is much more troublesome.

I wish you a good future at dpreview!

    Robbert.

While I won't be able to keep taking the exact same photos (since I'm moving to DPR headquarters in Seattle), I will be striving to find good replacements for the photos I used here. Hopefully I'll find some!

Folks, these forums are going to be online for several more months. If everyone decides that they want to stay here, then I don't see why we can't do that.

    Jeff,

Great to hear that you will be able to keep the forums open a bit longer.
