Your D700 is d-d-d-dead? Wtf happened?
Nikon D7000 and a bunch of Nikon stuff — oh, and some Canon p&s's too

Check the Adobe Website Rooz...it's all there.

sorry if I missed it - what don't you like about the D800? briefly is fine.

It's grossly uncomfortable for me to hold. No adequate thumb grip means I can't shoot one handed comfortably. 4fps and the short buffer weren't great selling points either.

It went swimming at the beach 2 years ago and the rust has gradually killed it.

Well, I got 2 more years out of it after it was underwater for around 5 seconds, so I'm not complaining.
Can I just say here the mkiii af is amazing. Fast, reliable and ultra responsive. Awesome.

You have watched Kai's shootout between the D4 and mkiii haven't you?

no. will definately watch it though before i make a decision. i cant imagine the d4 being able to compete with the 1dx given that the mkiii is smashing it all over the park with AF performance. dynanmic range may be a different story though cos the mkiii is way behind in that regard. if the d800 is better than the d4 in DR, you are going to be absolutely blown away by what it can capture in a frame.
