Nikon Capture NX2 - lost serial

Am I going crazy? This software comes free with the D700 right? Bought the camera 3 years ago and have lost the CD - at least I think I had it in the first place because I am sure I installed it at some point. Having changed my laptop I wanted to re-install it and cant find it.

Contacted Nikon, they say the serial key is on the box. I have checked but I dont see a serial key (you can download software from their website). They wont give me a serial key. Have I missed something on the box?! Anyone have any ideas how to get my serial key?

    thanks

I don't think Capture NX2 has ever come with a body. Maybe the pro bodies(D4) but the others, don't believe so.

If my memory serves right I think once they offered NX2 with D700. Do you still have the old labtop? I believe the serial is in HELP - About Nikon CAPTURE NX.

It was offered as a special deal with the D700 and I think D3 not long after the D700 was released.
There is software available that should be able to find and identify the key code on the original PC if it is still working otherwise I guess it's bad luck.

Just a couple of posts to stop the account being deleted. I assume inactive accounts get deleted from time to time.

Just curious but if, as you said before you left, that you'd never be back, then why would it matter if your account was disabled?
