A900 successor information "leaked"

The A99 to be officially announced at Photokina in September 2012. Leaked specs include 24.3 MP FF Sensor, 102 focus points and ability to record video in up to 24 different video formats. Possible articulating touch screen as well.

Excellent news, Darin... minus the delay, of course.

This second camera has potential... but still, including "menu-operated" direct control over 2.4GHz FSK RF-triggered flash systems still seems to be the missing advanced feature for a real pro-camera. The idea of not having to look somewhere else other than the back of the camera to make flash exposure adjustments (ratio and trigger-timing) just seems OBVIOUS to me, considering that we are working with TWO electronic displays (EVF and LCD back).

We need to divorce ourselves from IR control. It is old technology and is problematic/unreliable with certain lighting and physical obstruction situations. I suggest they simply make the camera master of lighting control... instead of playing all the games with third party options. While the Pixel KING is major step in the right direction, it still lacks the upper-end control features... but, having ALL the feature Minolta designed back in their "advanced hot shoe" change for the ISO-type (back in 1995 - and there was a lot of pain with that decision) is an even better idea. What Pixel has shown is how cheaply this can be done. Integrating this advanced-idea into the a9x series would be similarly cheap. If they are going to add the extra space of an integrated vertical grip... put something useful in it.

I am interested in making the craft BETTER and seeing SONY produce a truly remarkable 'all-in-one' remote-control tool. Now, that would be something the Canikon-pro bunch could drool over.
