Digital Video - what software under $100?

    Hi all,

I'm just breaking into video. Just curious what software y'all like for Video editing on a budget?

I'm adverse to freebies that have computer invasions attached - don't mind spending a modest amount.

    Thanks!

In the past I used Pinnacle Studio before settling on Adobe Premiere.
Pinnacle is quite user friendly (at least the versions I used were.)
Premiere is expensive and there is a cut-down version called Adobe Premiere Element. However, I'm not sure if both is within your budget.

I believe most video editing progams have a free trial for 30 days.

Sorry that I can't give you advice in better details... but I'm sure you will receive better response from a video forum.

Later versions of Windows have some video editing software built in.

    Hi Tim,

For $15 I got Roxio 2010 off Amazon - that got me over the initial hurdle of processing the first round of videos from the new camcorder. It's really basic but it worked.

I'll check into a Pinnacle Trial - the price is right. A friend said he found AVS Studio Pro satisfactory until he moved up to Sony Vegas Pro which he's blown away by - another $550 solution.

Woa! Adobe Premiere is pricy ($550). I was hoping they'd have an academic version - no luck unless I go with Adobe Master Collection at $899.

Any suggestion on Video Forums? Thanks!

    Vich,
I don't even belong to any video forum. I meant to say you should ask them.
