This one is for you, Frank
Frank,
I know your affinity for lighthouse shots. I do not even know how to explain my finding this one. I was driving through Villa Park, IL, today... which is a west side suburb of Chicago. It has to be noted that this community has no lakes or waterways anywhere nearby. It is truly "land locked" and here is this silly lighthouse, near the town center. Maybe it was built with Noah's Ark and the flood in mind or something.

@ 70mm - f/11 - 1/400 sec - ISO-1600 - Natural Lighting - 3-shot HDR +/- 2 stops
I have included a Hybrid Map to detail its location (red arrow). You may notice that municipal pool near the top of this map... but, I hardly think that qualifies as a waterway.
Sorry, I just had to share it.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Nice find. It may just be the design of the building. Was the name of the store Lighthouse General Store??? LOL I see part of a lighthouse on the sign.

It has its own website. Still, it does border on the bizarre. Form without function.
