    Rare orchid flower

    This is a hard to find orchid from south america Caularthron bicornutum.
    Just opened last night and first picture with my A65 out of the shop .Name:  DSC00070_edited-2.jpg

    While I do like the shot I wish the DOF was just a hair larger.

    Congrats on the new camera; I hope it gives you much pleasure.
    I'm assuming you're using the kit lens and nuked it with off camera flash.
    I agree with kgosden that more DOF is needed.
    My recommendation would be to get the camera on a tripod (or stable platform) and use all, or mostly all, ambient light.
