Does anyone remember when the 20D first became available?

on the site here it says that the 20D was annouced on 8-19. does anyone remeber when it was first available for purchase? i'm planning ahead to get the replacement of the 20D as soon as it comes out so i'm just trying to get an idea of when i'll be able to get it. i know it's a long way off but it gives me time to save up

The link below says the 20D was announced August 20th, shipped to dealers week of September 13th and most likely available to pre-orders September 23rd. Another forum I read said the official release date was September 19th.

The 10D was announced in February 2003 (2-28 to be exact). The 20D was announced on 8-19-2004. That's about an 18 month gap right there. If Nikon does announce a D200, expect Canon to have its answer (30D) ready by September.
