Why is it so blue? All the other pictures of Tower Bridge at night that I've ever seen have had a tunsten colouration as befits the tungston lights that illuminate it.

    Bravo.

Works a little better than the Kodak, aay? Shows what the D70 can do in good hands. Is that the 28-80 from the N90/DCS410?

Paul, how did you white balance that shot? Was it custom or a preset (what type)? I think the shot came out excellent, I would just like to know (I will be in London in about 2 months)
    Excellent shot!!

    Tower Bridge Shot

    Paul-

I think it is a fantastic shot, and the white balance be damned! Do you want a different shade. No problem! It is just a tweak away in good software.

I think we ought to acknowledge a great shot when it is displayed without a whole lot of nitpicking. Some folks might not like my opinion, but that is how I feel. The correction is just a matter of a little software work. So I feel it is not a huge deal.

Thanks for the kind words, but that IS the true colour of Tower bridge at night

I set a custom white balance using my Sigma 70-300mm lens at full zoom aimed at a floodlight, then did a lens swap.

I shot this in RAW, so I could change the balance if it was out, but it was right from the camera, all I did was sharpen it a little when I processed it.

George, the 28-80mm lens is the cheaper kit option that came with the D70, I have a similar lens for the N90s, but left it at home that night, but will be using the 35mm up there soon.

If you want, I'll change it to the cloudy white balance setting, that'll give it a golden glow.
    All the best, Paul.
