    Question Sony DSC-P9 Memory

    Hi.

I have just bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-P9 fairly cheap and it does not recognise the memory stick (4 Gig Memory Stick Pro Duo) even though I am using the recommended adapter.

Any ideas (apart from binning it)?

My computer recognises the memory. Is there any way of making it work by creating the appropriate folders onto the memory stick or do I need to buy some older memory to suit this model?

(This is just for carrying around as a second camera)

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

From a review, "Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro (tested up to 1GB, does not support high speed transfer function; does not support Access Control security function)
16 MB card included". This camera came out in 2003 I would be surprised if it supported over 2GB. I believe that like SD cards there was a change in technology above 2GB that is not backwards compatible.
