Switch has a good bargain, there. It is definitely all you should need for most photography at this range, OUTDOORS.
By no means does it compare with SONY's 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G SSM (~700)or the SONY 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM lenses, it is still a very cost-effective lens for doing a lot for little cost.
Remember that zoom lenses of this length tend to have a minimum focus (M.F.D.) of 5-feet. No closer. (I believe MACRO mode on the TAMRON 70-300 allows you to get to around 3-feet)
The six-year warranty certainly don't hurt is something goes wrong, either (like it being out-of-focus or some such thing, out-of-the-box).
