Quantaray Filters?
I was at a camera shop and noticed a brand named Quantaray. Are they any good and do I need a multi-coated filter for an FZ3 or would a standard UV filter suffice.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure who Quantaray is exactly. I know that Ritz camera sells a lot of Quantary external flash units and the Quantaray 383 is actually a Sunpak 383 flash unit with the Quantaray label. I suspect that the Quantaray filters are just a branded filter produced by another company. If the price is comparable to filters from recognized filter manufacturers such as Tiffen or Hoya then they are likely of good quality but I won't go out on a limb and gaurantee that statement.
Most people agree that a multi-coated filter is better than one that is not. They tend to produce less lens flare and internal reflections than those that are not MC.

Quantaray == Hoya?
The clerk told me Quantaray filters were made by Hoya. Can anyone confirm or refute this?

I bought a Quantaray 52mm UV filter for the Raynox adapter for my FZ20 and I haven't seen any ill effects. It seems to be of decent quality.
