Ok, so I now have my A900 back but the lens, which took the brunt of the fall, will take a bit longer to fix.
Leaving out the delays caused by the Insurance Company...
Overall it took Sony 6 working days to come up with a written quote for the repairs (I wish they has e-mailed and saved a day) and another three working days to get the camera back to me.
That's not so bad, I think. We'll have to wait and see how they get on with the lens.

    Been checking the Anti Shake.

At least you are close enough to drop it off and pick it up. That saved alot of shipping time, and money.

Also I like that photo of the airplain, I've always loved airplains.

    Sure did, Frank.

Switch, I liked the shot too. I had only gone out back to check the SSS and the Aircraft just happened by so I grabbed a shot.
I should probably have dropped the shutter to 1/160th for a better test but I think that's a result given my shaky hands at 300mm.
I did some static tests anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I've been waiting all this time for the Zeiss 16-35 to re-appear. Guess what, the parts needed for the repair won't be available till the end of July which I'm guessing is still a knock on from the earthquake disaster.

Anyway, Sony have apologised for what they see as their failing and are issuing a BRAND NEW lens which should appear in the next couple of days.

I'm very happy with that solution and remain a satisfied Sony Customer. Obviously, I would have liked the lens back sooner but I knew it was in pretty bad shape (punny or what) when it went away and in view of the Japanese difficulties I find it hard to be too critical.

Well Joe, pictures from this lens won't be much different to ones from the lens it replaces.
So, in the meantime, you can see pictures from the old one in POTD - Malaga Cathedral.
