    Suddenly a lens stops auto-focusing

    Hi all-

Earlier today my 35 1.8 stopped autofocusing with my D7000. It was working fine for a bunch of shots, I put it in my bag, then when I brought it out again an hour later it had stopped. I took the lens off, put it back on, took the battery out, etc etc but nothing seems to help.

I put the 35 1.8 on my D90 when I got home and it worked perfectly. I put my 24-70 and 50 1.4 on my D7000 and both also worked perfectly. I tried the 35 on my D7000 again and it still didnt work.

Any suggestions on what might be wrong, or how to fix it?

    Thanks.

Clean the contacts on the lens and the camera body.

Great thanks. What do you usually use to clean the contacts?

I've never needed to on a camera lens but I have some electrical contact cleaner stuff in a spray can. You could head into Dick Smth in Manners St and try some of this stuff I guess. Just don't get it inside the camera or anywhere on the lens that it shouldn't be.

I have also heard of people using and eraser on the contacts.
